Aloft South Beach

The project represents the redevelopment of the historic Ankara Hotel, a four-story structure originally designed by Reiff & Fellman in 1954. The site is uniquely positioned at the juncture of the Collins Canal and Lake Pancoast, giving it waterfront access and appeal. The new development rehabilitates the existing pool and creates a sophisticated setting for lounging and outdoor dining at poolside, as well as a chic urban statement at the hotel arrival points. A new rooftop amenity area features a dramatic linear water statement atop a new seven story tower with bar and lounge overlooking Miami Beach.

This 239-room hotel is slated to open first quarter 2015. EDSA has provided conceptual and schematic design, coordination for Design Review Board (DRB) and Historical Preservation Board approvals and detailed site design through Construction Documents and Administration services.
