Angostura Resort

The Angostura Resort is the first regional project of its kind to demonstrate the ability of private development to be a leader in restoring degraded natural environments. The resort focus is to showcase the natural environment in a luxury setting, while restoring the offshore coral environment. The plan envisions a first class eco-tourist paradise that preserves local heritage with components that compliment nature and generate employment opportunities. The low density, environmentally responsive programming includes a beachfront hotel and spa, 18-hole championship golf course, inland lake and golf villas set amidst natural conditions including an old coconut grove and former sugar cane plantation. The design emphasizes outdoor entertaining with an attitude of being light on the land and limited vehicular access.

EDSA provided master planning, concept development and led planning councils presentations. Additional responsibilities included schematic level development for the core hotel and spa, resort residences, open space systems, golf envelope, man-made wetland systems, and support programs.
