Bank of America Plaza
Situated on two city blocks, Bank of America Plaza represents one of the largest and most prestigious office developments in Florida. Originally completed in 1986, the complex dominates the Tampa skyline and instantly elevated the business community’s expectations with its imported marble façade and landscaped piazza. Major design elements include a sunken plaza with built-in seating, highlighted by a reflective fountain pool with 74 water jets and a sculpture by renowned artist Charles O. Perry.
As part of the initial streetscape design, EDSA provided an overall master plan study for six contiguous blocks in downtown Tampa. The purpose of the study was to ensure a consistent streetscape fabric that unified a series of different architectural styles. EDSA’s design recommendations included treatments for paving, crosswalks, street tree plantings, accent plantings, thematic lighting and site furniture. EDSA also provided complete site design services for the main plaza. These services encompassed design development, contract documents for planting and irrigation and coordination services for the fountain and sculpture area.
