Baobab Beach Resort & Spa
Infusing modern architecture with tribal motifs, every contemporary detail of the family resort draws inspiration from neighboring Africa, as seen in its planting palette, art forms, and incorporation of the Baobab tree. Defining a new level of culturally-rooted design, lavish gardens, reflective ponds, and indigenous flora and fauna bring an expressive organic component and ethnic character to the property. Tropical landscape, meandering pathways, wooden bridges and varied levels of walkways help connect pedestrians to the lazy river, waterfalls and eight distinctive swimming pools, each with its own character. The main infinity edge pool personifies the siting of Troglodyte villages by maximizing poolside guest seating and incorporating intricate paving patterns that mirror the iconic designs of Masari shields and textiles.
EDSA was responsible for full planning and design services through construction documents for the 750-room, 4-star resort. Preliminary planning studies focused on siting all amenities which involved mass grading, feature design and shadow studies.
