Baobab Beach Resort & Spa

The 750-room, 4-star beachfront family resort draws inspiration from neighboring Africa, as seen in its architecture, planting palette, art forms, and the incorporation of the Baobab tree. Designed with lavish gardens, numerous pools, ponds, waterfalls and sand beaches the spacious hotel accurately depicts African culture through various tribal motifs, African flora and fauna, as well as indigenous site planning. Water, an essential element of the resort, is reflected among the eight different swimming pools, each with its own character. The centerpiece of the resort is a modern, architectural interpretation of an authentic African Palapa. This element frames a dramatic view across a large, reflective, infinity edge pool.
EDSA was responsible for full planning and design services through construction documents. Preliminary planning studies focused on siting all amenities which involved mass grading, feature design and shadow studies to determine the optimum location of pools and plant materials.
