Layia Palace at Bawadi
With the mission of providing traditional family entertainment as an alternative to more contemporary hotels in the region, the intensive site amenity program showcases multiple complex features including a climate-controlled atrium with a skating rink and arctic adventure below. Multi-level outdoor environments were designed partially over parking decks and hotel roofs, totaling over five acres of intensive green roof in addition to on-grade landscape. Outdoor spaces are designed with both daytime and night activities in mind, with respect for maximizing activity within the constraints of the desert climate. The aquatic garden complex includes a sand bottom pool, wave pool, and a private family pool with fully serviced cafes, juice bars, and cabanas. Other rooftop amenities include tennis, putting course, and sensory gardens.
EDSA developed the conceptual site plan for this 1,000-room family resort hotel on Dubai’s planned Bawadi Strip.
