Serena del Mar Development

The master plan proposes an oceanfront and marina village, a hotel resort village, a business and commercial district as well as a golf resort and an equestrian village that will capture a great deal of the city’s urban expansion. Along with the Cartagena’s unique history, location, village restoration program and constant tourism growth, the master plan will attract national and international tourism and compete with other great destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico and in Latin America.

The first phase of the project is the hospital, currently under construction, this new hospital will be a 400-bed, 850,000-square-foot, general teaching and high specialty hospital. The design incorporates underground and surface parking facilities, private patient healing gardens, and an open space public park. The hospital will be the first developed project of Serena del Mar, the most important urban development in the Caribbean Region. It will provide high-quality healthcare to patients of all socioeconomic levels and will be operated fully by the Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá.

EDSA was responsible for providing master planning service and full service detail design for different phases of development throughout the project.
