Robert M. Dugan, PLA, ASLA, Principal
Since 1977, Bob has carried out the EDSA mission of leading design teams and expanding the landscape architect’s role in every project. Studying abroad in the Caribbean sparked his appreciation for the impact of culture and the power of nature in shaping human environments. This experience is evident in a strong infusion of natural elements in Bob’s visions for new and revitalized resorts and hotels, public waterfronts, sports venues, urban designs and communities. Years of running and multisport pursuits have shaped his work ethic and ability to focus on long term goals, while leading a wide array of projects from concept through detailing and construction.
Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture, SUNY at Syracuse University. Joined EDSA in 1977.
“As landscape architects, we’re challenged to decode the natural, cultural, economic and other forces that combine to influence the design of great places. We have a responsibility to respect nature and history, challenge convention and infuse both reality and fantasy in all our designs. That complexity is what provokes our best ideas.”
