BILL RENNER, EDSA PRINCIPAL TO SPEAK ON TOURISM: HOW TO SAVE THE GOLDEN EGG
Bill Renner, Principal with EDSA,
an internationally-renowned, full-service planning, landscape architectural,
urban design and graphic design firm will be speaking on Sustainability
in Resort Communities at the APA 2004 National Planning Conference
in Washington, D.C.
His presentation will ask the question, Can mountain and island
destinations survive the impacts of tourism without losing their historic
and environmental quality. This is the pressing question
facing resort developers, architects and planners as tourism and community
development expands to more exotic destinations, says Mr. Renner.
Can too many cars, too many tee-shirt shops and too many condos
damage the quality of a destination that first made it popular? |
