EDSA HONORED WITH THREE FLORIDA CHAPTER ASLA AWARDS EDSA, an internationally-renowned, full-service planning, landscape architectural, urban design and graphic design firm has been honored with three distinguished professional awards. The Florida Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (FLASLA) recognized the Jim & Jan Family Center Village at Nova Southeastern University, Owensboro Riverfront District Master Plan and Radisson Aruba as projects that effectively blend artistic and sustainable design principles to create beautiful and functional environments.
In 2004, Spain was the most popular leisure destination and there are no sign of it slowing down. Demands for holiday in Spain are becoming more diverse as consumers travel the country. EDSA, an international planning and landscape architecture firm is responding to Spain’s booming tourism with new projects. “Nothing says success like a design that gets built. When you impress investors, developers and tourists alike, you know the project will flourish,” says Doug Coolman, Principal at EDSA.
Spain’s worldwide tourism appeal and valuable real estate market are attracting developers and investors seeking enriched programs that capture more consumers. They are counting on innovative planning and design that compliments and enhances international cultures as well as positively influences the economy.
Based on the growing needs of clients and the firm’s continued growth in the hotels, resorts, residential communities, urban design and campus planning markets, EDSA has expanded their graphics services with the addition of two new team members. Along with branding, collateral and new media, EDSA’s full-service graphics studio provides environmental signage, architectural signage, way finding and exhibit design services.
EDSA has been commissioned to work with the City of Miami, Florida in planning and designing Virginia Key, a 1,100 acre island joined to the City and Key Biscayne by the Rickenbacker Causeway. The plan will include public parks, marinas, educational institutions and waterfront redevelopment. The City planned a kick-off event to celebrate the beginning of the Master Planning process. Doug Coolman and Bill Renner, both Principals with EDSA participated in the event with City Commissioner Johnny Winton, County Commissioner Carlos Gimenez and Mayor Bob Oldakowski of Key Biscayne.
EDSA has been recognized with the “Award of Honor” and “Award of Merit” from the Kentucky Chapter of American Society of Landscape Architecture (KYASLA) for its development of the Riverfront Redevelopment Master Plan and RiverPark Center Patio Expansion in Owensboro, Kentucky. Both projects are part of riverfront development efforts in Owensboro, Kentucky which EDSA has been playing an integral part of since 2001.
