Edward D. Stone, Jr. Travel Initiative

The EDSA studio experience reinforces the firm’s core values of being an absorbent observer and leveraging our collective brilliance. Promoting education through group travel, EDSA teams are encouraged to enhance design sensibilities, broaden global perspectives, and escape their comfort zones by learning through exploration. Upon return, teams present their experiences, convey knowledge gained, and incorporate new skills and ideas into practice.

Entry Level Landscape Architect

Emerging professional with 0-5 years of experience who possesses strong graphics and design skills. Candidates should have experience using AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Google SketchUp, and other design software. The selected individuals will be part of an integrated design team and should be self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university.

Experienced Landscape Architect

Creative designer with proven design intuition, problem-solving, and project management skills. Capable of visioning, developing, and advancing design concepts to create technically sound, innovative designs for implementation. Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture and 3-7 years of relevant work experience. The ideal candidate has strong graphic skills and proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, SketchUp, and other design software. The ability to write technical documents, engage in the business development, and collaborate successfully within a team is also required.

Joseph J. Lalli Design Fellowship

In celebration of former EDSA President Joseph J. Lalli’s legacy, the annual designation is granted to an EDSA employee who presents a compelling proposal to travel and immerse themselves in a location or culture to better understand the attributes of that place. Recipients share lessons learned with colleagues through journaling, photography, sketching, and case study analysis.

Through the endowments established by generous sponsors, the Landscape Architecture Foundation has awarded over $1.25 million in scholarships to 570 students since 1986. These awards support new generations of landscape architects by recognizing leadership, rewarding superior student performance, encouraging diversity, supporting original research, and assisting students with unmet financial need.
