Overview

Set sensitively amongst the pygmy mangroves, the resort roots itself in Mayan philosophies and minimalist geometry as landmarked through a functional design language. Fostering encounters with natural wonders and connectivity to cultural traditions, the modern interpretation is recognizably elevated in a stepped motor court with its stacked walls and boldly textured materials along with meandering water gardens that reveal sunken inverted pyramid steps.

A switchback boardwalk treads lightly on the land and serves as the spine of the resort as it connects guests to the cenote sanctuary spa, sunken pools, wellness center, restaurants, guestrooms and other amenities.

EDSA embraced the history and tranquil nature of the Yucatán peninsula in creating a luxury, wellness-driven destination. In compliment to the ‘heavenly’ meaning behind the project namesake, design of the outdoor spaces authentically celebrates history while restoring the natural ecosystem for a meaningful sense of place.
