Overview

A cross between a tropical village and bustling harbor, Marina Village provides a venue for shopping and dining as well as a supplementary amenity for resort guests and daily visitors. With two distinctive points of entry, accessibility accommodates privacy while also creating a natural transition from the cruise ship terminal where a pedestrian promenade outlining the marina guides patrons to the entrance. Properly proportioned hardscape elements are bordered by lush gardens and colorful flowers to create an artful linkage to the retail core.

Themed as a quaint Bahamian marketplace, a cohesive color palette, colonial-styling architecture, lofty coconut trees, and elements of ballast bricks, cobblestone, and corrugated tin authenticate the design. Three main plazas are connected by walkways providing visitors with a sense of place, scale, and orientation. The animated 65,000 square-foot bazaar features 21 retail shops and five core restaurants, as well as local entertainment and outdoor gathering spaces. A collection of carts adds to the cultural flavor and features local crafts that showcase the artistry and energy of the island.

EDSA provided elaborate design detailing and appropriate programming opportunities amongst lush landscaping, intimate spaces, and grand public areas.
