Overview

Harmonizing with the existing lake and natural surrounds, the topography informs the site design creating healing gardens, convalescent trails, private areas and an amphitheater. Encouraging patients and visitors to interact with nature, the ‘healing wave’ concept provides for therapeutic value with a browsing experience flow and barrier-free design that prioritizes visual and physical accessibility to the landscape for sensory stimulation.

Energy saving and sustainability elements such as rainwater harvesting, solar and wind orientation and an ecological water management plan support a green, institutional community that offers stress-free rehabilitation and functional social spaces for patients and healthcare workers.

EDSA created a healing landscape that accounts for building locations, land use, site circulation and landscape aesthetics. The rehabilitative project design supports mountain and river systems as well as relying on wind, sunlight and environmental resources for ecological benefit.
