Overview

A celebration of culture, the site envelops users through a symbolic aesthetic and form respectful of Cuban heritage. Reminiscent of traditional Cuban homes, covered porches sweep outward from angular buildings bringing a sense of human scale and orientation. A series of ‘rooms’ ranging from intimate study pockets and sculpture gardens to a celebratory amphitheater embrace the university and welcome neighbors. Smaller rectilinear courtyards provide for intimate gatherings and improve visual and physical flow between spaces.
