Overview

Volcanic lava rock, ancient trees, and sweeping wetlands transition into lushly landscaped gardens, cascading waterfalls, and more than 150 pool spa experiences at the iconic Mission Hills Haikou, Hot Springs and Spa. The volcanic springs, which pay homage to ancient bathing rituals and healing journeys, are organized into a series of five continental zones where architecture, landscape, and therapeutic treatments reflect the indigenous qualities of each region.

The geographic zones are connected by a bamboo covered, 800-foot sinuous lava stone walkway which leads to the differing springs along its length. Gateway pavilions add to the holistic experience and provide ceremonial entry points to destinations within the sanctuary.

EDSA provided design and theming for all exterior spaces within the destination spa in support of a strong relationship between the built environment and the surrounding natural conditions.
