Overview

Before relocating to its current area, three separate sites were analyzed for suitability. Completed in 1994, the 204-acre campus is the largest site for a college in New York City. With a current enrollment of 11,000 students, the centrally located university is set in a park-like landscape.

By incorporating mature trees and woodlands, flowering trees and ornamental plantings, fields and outdoor athletic facilities, a great lawn, sculptures, and seating areas, EDSA created a rural oasis in the big city.

EDSA provided site analysis, site selection, master planning, site planning, and landscape architectural services for the project. EDSA also served as the consistent design team member, coordinating with five independent architectural/consultant groups.

Master Plan

In the resulting site master plan parking and roads were planned at the perimeter of the campus with pedestrian circulation throughout the grounds. Two quadrangles and the fine arts center remain the focal points
