Overview

Nestled amidst the tourist developments of the South Carolina coast lies Daufuskie Island. Haig Point, the northernmost plantation on the island, is a community with no cars or internal combustion vehicles. Instead, golf carts and horse-drawn carriages carry residents down the narrow, winding roadways made of shells.

The concept of Haig Point was established on the inherent remoteness and graceful pace of the island. Amenities include a 27-hole Rees Jones championship golf course, a tennis club, a swimming pool, an island ferry, 292 single-family lots, and 42 multi-family lots.

EDSA served as overall project team coordinator and site-work designer and was responsible for complete site analysis, land use planning, conceptual design, project management services, planning approvals, and permitting.
